The Effect of Quizlet on Students’ Vocabulary Achievement at Eleventh Grade Students

This research described the effect of Quizlet on students’ vocabulary achievement at eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Palangka Raya in academic year 2018/2019. The method used in this research was experimental quantitative, in which the researcher applied of media in teaching vocabulary to increase the students’s achievement score in learning English vocabulary. It was called as Quizlet. The process of teaching-learning through Quizlet was called treatment.
In collecting the data, the researcher used two tests named pre-test and posttest. Then, the researcher analyzed the two test to find out the effect of the treatment. The researcher used One Group Pre-Test and Posttest Design as a design of this research. There were 30 students taken as the sample of this research. They were taken from the eleventh grade students of class XI10 of SMA Negeri 4 Palangka Raya in academic year 2018/2019. The sample was taken by cluster random sampling technique.
The result of this research showed that the students’ achievement scores are increasing. Where the students mean scores on pre-test was 58,83 and on posttest was 73. It showed that the students’ mean score on posttest was higher than pre-test. In specific, the researcher can conclude that the Quizlet could increasing students’ achievement score of eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri Palangka Raya in academic year 2018/2019 in learning vocabulary, especially personal letter topic that focused on noun, verb, and adjective. This research had been proved by the t-test analysis to reject H0 and to accepted Ha where df = 29 of |t*| ? ttable or 7,754 ? 2,045. Then, H0 is rejected or Ha is accepted. So, based on that hypothesis testing the Quizlet gave effect on students’ vocabulary achievement at eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Palangka Raya.
