Abstract

The accuracy of reinforcement volume calculations is a critical factor in the success of construction projects, particularly for structural elements such as foundations, columns, and beams. In Indonesia, conventional calculation methods are still widely used, typically based on two-dimensional drawings from AutoCAD. However, with technological advancements, Building Information Modeling (BIM) methods have begun to be implemented, offering more precise three-dimensional modeling and better data integration throughout the planning and execution stages. This study compares the reinforcement volume of structural elements calculated using conventional methods and the BIM method through Autodesk Revit software in the Power House construction project at Ngudi Waluyo Regional Hospital, Wlingi, Blitar Regency. The results indicate that the Revit BIM method generally produces a higher reinforcement volume compared to the conventional method. For example, the foundation reinforcement volume using Revit was 616,846 kg, while the conventional method yielded 595,053 kg, showing a difference of 2,85%. Similar discrepancies were found in other elements, such as transverse and longitudinal tie beams 3,09%, columns 2,30%, beam B2 3,18%, beam B3 3,49%, beam B4 3,81%, slab A0 3,01%, and slab A1 1,09%.
