With the advancement of construction technology, precast methods such as half slab have begun to be implemented as alternatives to conventional methods in floor slab construction. This study aims to compare the floor slab construction costs between the half slab precast method and the conventional method in the construction project of the Ar Rahim Building, UIN Malang Phase II. The analysis focuses on reinforcement costs for slab types A1 and A2 on the 1st floor and roof using the conventional method, and on slab types A1 and A2 on the 2nd and 3rd floors using the half slab precast method. The research uses a quantitative approach by comparing costs based on work volume and unit prices of materials. Based on the calculations, it was found that the conventional method resulted in a lower reinforcement cost of Rp 3,323,263,608 compared to the half slab precast method, which required Rp 4,709,791,209—resulting in a higher cost difference of Rp 1,386,527,601. Although the half slab precast method requires a higher investment for reinforcement components, it offers advantages in terms of construction time efficiency and quality control. This study contributes to the selection of appropriate floor slab construction methods by considering cost aspects.
