The increasing demand for vertical housing in urban areas has encouraged the optimization of existing buildings to expand residential capacity without additional land development. The State Apartment Building of the Ministry of Finance in West Jakarta was originally designed as a two-tower complex; however, only one 12-story tower was constructed, prompting an evaluation of its feasibility for expansion to 25 stories. This study evaluates the structural capacity of the existing building as a basis for determining the need for redesign or structural strengthening. Structural analysis was performed using ETABS v22.7 and the response spectrum method in accordance with SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 2847:2019. The existing 12-story structure was evaluated through 15, 18, 21, and 24-story simulations while maintaining the original member dimensions. The evaluation covered modal mass participation, natural period, base shear scaling, dual system performance, inter-story drift, torsional irregularity, and member capacity ratios. The results show that the existing structure satisfies all performance requirements under the 12-story condition. However, overstressed members appear in the 15-story model and increase significantly in the 18, 21, and 24-story models due to higher internal forces and seismic response.
