The Journal of Islamic Education and Intellectual Discourse (JIED) has been established to advance academic scholarship in the areas of Islamic Education, Islamic Thought, and Intellectual Discourse. The historical milestones of JIED are as follows:

  1. The Journal of Islamic Education and Intellectual Discourse (JIED) was established in November 2025 through the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education No. 6976/UN24.3/DT/2025, with Ahmad Saefulloh serving as the Editor-in-Chief. JIED was founded as an academic platform for publishing scholarly works in the fields of Islamic Education, Islamic Thought, Islamic Intellectual Tradition, and Contemporary Islamic Studies.
  2. This journal is managed and published by the Department of Pancasila and Citizenship Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Palangka Raya University, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia (Postal Code 73112).
  3. JIED is published four times a year—in January, April, July, and October—in online format (e-ISSN: in process).
  4. Since its establishment, JIED has been committed to serving as a medium for the development of critical, interdisciplinary, and contextual scientific discourse, connecting the classical Islamic intellectual heritage with modern educational and philosophical approaches.
  5. Starting from Volume 1, Number 1 (2025), articles are published in English, Arabic, or Indonesian to reach a broader global academic audience. JIED has fully implemented the Open Journal System (OJS) for manuscript submission, peer review, and online publication to ensure transparency, academic integrity, and accessibility.
  6. In 2025, JIED officially joined CrossRef, granting each published article a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) as a unique scientific identifier to enhance academic visibility and citation indexing.
