Publication Ethics

The Journal of Islamic Education and Intellectual Discourse (JIED) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal adheres to the principles and best practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) , emphasizing integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout all stages of the publication process.

1. Ethical Responsibilities

  1. Authors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original, free from plagiarism, and that all sources are properly cited or acknowledged. Multiple or redundant submissions to different journals are strictly prohibited.
  2. Editors are responsible for making fair, transparent, and objective editorial decisions. They must uphold the confidentiality of the review process and ensure the integrity of the double-blind peer review.
  3. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback. They must maintain confidentiality and declare any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
  4. Publishers must maintain ethical oversight, prevent publication misconduct, and ensure that the journal’s processes promote the trustworthiness and integrity of the scholarly record.

2. Misconduct and Disciplinary Action

Any form of academic dishonesty—including but not limited to plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or unethical citation practices—will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript or retraction of the published article. All such cases will be handled in accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines .

3. Ethical Commitment

By adhering to these ethical standards, JIED reaffirms its commitment to fostering academic excellence, protecting the integrity of the publication process, and ensuring the reliability of the knowledge it disseminates to the scholarly community.
