The Malasszia furfur causes pityriasis Versicolor. The aim of this research was to identify the Malassezia furfur in inmates of class II A Women’s Prison Sungguminasa. Thisresearch was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratori, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University. The samples were taken at Class II A Women’s Prison Sungguminasa. Samples were taken from 10 respondents in the from of skin swabs suffering from Pityriasis Versicolor, then inoculated on SDA media which had been added with chloramphenicol and the incubated at 37oC for 7 days. Based on macroscopic obsevations, colonies had the characteristics of the Malassezia furfur. Determining microscopic morphology, colony preparation were made with Lactophenol catton blue staining and then observed under a microscope with 40 time magnification . The research result showed that no prison were infected with the Malassezia furfur.</em></p> Sri Marlita, Hartati, Nuramaniyah Taufiq Copyright (c) 2024 Sri Marlita, Hartati, Nuramaniyah Taufiq https://e-journal.upr.ac.id/index.php/tropis/article/view/12000 Fri, 19 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis angka lempeng total bakteri dan keberadaan Salmonella typhi pada saus cabai jajanan pedagang di lingkungan Universitas Palangka Raya https://e-journal.upr.ac.id/index.php/tropis/article/view/11885 <p><strong>.</strong> Chilli sauce is a food additive that is served by many food vendors. In the oral cavity, changes in the form of Candida albicans from commensel to pathogenic resulting in oral candidiasis are caused by predisposing factors, including disruption of the normal flora of the oral cavity due to long- term use of broad- spectrum antibiotics, excessive use of mouthwash, irritation due to the use of dentures, lack of maintaining oral hygiene, immune disorders due to diseases such as AIDS, Diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of oral candidiasis screening on the saliva of assisted citizens at the Sungguminasa Class IIA Women’s Correctional Institution. The samples used were saliva from assisted residents at the Sungguminasa Class IIA Women’s Community Institution. Saliva samples was screened for Candida albicans fungus by examination using the culture method for 3 – 7 days and continued with gram staining. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that from 10 (100%) samples obtained 7 (70%) positive samples of Candida albicans with a maximum number of colonies of 65 colonies and at least 2 colonies with an averge colony count of 22.71. While 3 (30%) samples were negative for Candida albicans. The conclusion of the screening results obtained showed that the samples that were examined and obtained positive resutls were said not to be infected with oral candidiasis, but the identified Candida albicans was still classified as normal flora in the oral cavity, this is because the number of colonies in the positive sampel &lt;100 which showed no increase in colonies.</em></p> Umi Nur Fadilah, Hartati, Yanti Sunaidi Copyright (c) 2024 Tropis: Jurnal Riset Teknologi Laboratorium Medis https://e-journal.upr.ac.id/index.php/tropis/article/view/12001 Sat, 20 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Identifikasi larva Aedes aegypti dan Aedes albopictus di Kecamatan Pahandut Kota Palangka Raya https://e-journal.upr.ac.id/index.php/tropis/article/view/11996 <p>Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by Aedes spp. mosquitoes. which can be found in tropical and sub-tropical climates. The transmission of dengue fever is closely related to people's daily living habits. Factors that play a role in the emergence of disease are influenced by human factors as hosts and Aedes spp mosquitoes. as a vector for transmitting dengue fever. The breeding place for Aedes spp. can increase the mosquito population in transmitting dengue fever to humans. Research on peat water as a habitat for Aedes spp. larvae. It is very important to do this as an effort to control dengue vectors, especially in areas where the pH of the water tends to be acidic in Palangka Raya City because the larvae of Aedes spp. has the ability to adapt to water that tends to be acidic.
