Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of social rehabilitation services in fostering economic independence among beneficiaries at the Majar Tabela PSBR Unit (UPT) under the Central Kalimantan Provincial Social Affairs Office. This study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with informants drawn from management, program implementers, beneficiaries, and alumni The results indicate that the program has been implemented effectively, characterized by clear objectives, appropriate targeting, and improvements in participants’ skills and behavioral changes. However, these achievements have not yet fully led to sustainable economic independence. This is influenced by limitations in facilities and infrastructure, as well as the absence of follow-up support for alumni. The implications of this study are the provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure, as well as the strengthening of follow-up support for alumni so that the skills acquired do not end at the training stage but can be optimally utilized in daily life.
