  • Menjaga Identitas, Menggagas Inovasi dalam Rupa Gagasan Perancangan dan Riset Arsitektur Berbasis Konteks Lokal

    Volume 20 Number 2 (December 2025) of the Journal of Architectural Perspectives presents a curated collection of scholarly articles derived from architecture students’ final projects as well as academic research by scholars that have been previously disseminated through scientific forums, developed in collaboration with the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) of Central Kalimantan. This issue reflects a continued commitment to advancing architectural discourse that is adaptive, contextual, and responsive to local conditions, while fostering meaningful dialogue between academic inquiry and professional practice.

    The articles featured in this volume explore a wide range of architectural and urban issues, including public building design approaches that prioritize community needs, the planning and development of tourism and conservation areas grounded in local potential, and morphological studies of historic urban environments that play a crucial role in preserving city identity amid ongoing development pressures. In addition, several contributions examine the role of local communities in sustaining river ecosystems, highlighting the interconnectedness of spatial planning, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.

    Through these diverse yet interconnected perspectives, this issue aims to serve as both an academic reference and a source of design inspiration for students, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in their efforts to create a high-quality, sustainable built environment rooted in local wisdom and cultural values.

    The latest edition of the Journal of Architectural Perspectives presents a collection of selected articles rooted in the final assignments of architecture students and the results of academic research from researchers that have previously been presented in scientific forums, the result of collaboration with the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) of Central Kalimantan. This publication reflects the spirit of developing adaptive, contextual, and locally-oriented architectural science, while also opening up space for a meeting of ideas between the academic world and the architectural profession.

    The topics discussed in this edition are very diverse, including studies of public building designs that are oriented towards community needs, development of tourism and conservation areas based on local potential, and studies of the morphology of historical areas that are an important part of maintaining city identity amidst the flow of development. Not only that, there is also research that raises the role of local communities in maintaining the sustainability of river ecology, as a form of reflection on the close relationship between spatial design and environmental preservation.

    By containing these diverse perspectives, this edition is expected to be a scientific reference as well as design inspiration for students, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders in realizing a quality, sustainable built environment rooted in local wisdom.

  • Kajian Konseptual Perancangan Kawasan, Ruang Terbuka Publik dan Bangunan Arsitektural

    Edisi ini berfokus pada eksplorasi berbagai pendekatan konseptual dalam perancangan kawasan, ruang terbuka publik, dan bangunan arsitektural yang mempertimbangkan aspek manusia, lingkungan, dan keberlanjutan. Dengan mengintegrasikan perspektif lintas disiplin, jurnal ini menghadirkan kajian yang mendalam mengenai hubungan antara ruang dan perilaku manusia, fungsi ruang untuk berbagai kelompok masyarakat, dan inovasi desain dalam konteks arsitektur modern.

    Artikel yang dimuat dalam edisi ini mencakup beberapa tema utama, di antaranya Psikologi Arsitektur yang mengupas bagaimana desain ruang dapat memengaruhi emosi, perilaku, dan interaksi manusia. Kajian ini menyoroti pentingnya memahami persepsi manusia terhadap ruang dalam menciptakan lingkungan binaan yang nyaman, fungsional, dan mendukung kesejahteraan mental. Sekolah Ramah Anak dengan menganalisis konsep desain sekolah yang mengutamakan kebutuhan anak-anak, menciptakan lingkungan yang aman, inklusif, dan mendukung proses belajar melalui pendekatan ruang yang adaptif, kreatif, dan inspiratif. Teritorial Pedestrian membahas pentingnya pengaturan ruang bagi pejalan kaki dalam kawasan perkotaan. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana desain teritorial yang tepat dapat meningkatkan kenyamanan, keselamatan, dan konektivitas pejalan kaki sekaligus mendukung mobilitas berkelanjutan. Desain Konseptual Arsitektural menyoroti proses kreatif dalam menghasilkan konsep desain arsitektur yang inovatif dan berkelanjutan. Kajian ini mengedepankan pendekatan teoritis dan praktik dalam mewujudkan desain yang mencerminkan identitas lokal, teknologi mutakhir, serta kebutuhan masyarakat masa kini.

    Melalui berbagai artikel ini, diharapkan jurnal ini menjadi referensi berharga bagi akademisi, praktisi, dan pemangku kebijakan dalam memahami kompleksitas perancangan ruang dan bangunan serta dampaknya pada kehidupan manusia.

"Theory and Implementation of Architectural Design Design" is the chosen  theme as 2nd Edition of Jurnal Perspektif Arsitektur that published in Volume 18, Number 2,  December  2023 and presents the ideas of students and lecturers in the Architecture Study Program, University of Palangka Raya in the form of Design Design and theoretical studies in the realm of the architectural built environment.
