This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of using a probing-prompting learning model based on active learning on physics learning outcomes in class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Palu. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with the design of The Non Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study were all students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Palu. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling, with the research sample being class X MIA A totaling 28 students as the experimental group and class X MIA B totaling 28 students as the control group. The physics learning outcome instrument is in the form of a multiple choice test that has been validated through validation. The physics learning outcome test obtained shows that the mean value of the experimental group is 79 with a standard deviation of 3.23. In the control class, an average value of 61.3 with a standard deviation of 3.51 was obtained. Hypothesis test t-test (two parties), obtained t = 4.84 and t (0.05) (54) = 2.004 at the real level α = 0.05. This means that the value of t is in the rejection area of H0. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the active learning-based probing-prompting learning model on physics learning outcomes in class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Palu.
