Abstract

The escalating demand for data transmission at the Medical Records and Health Information Department (RMIK) of Tasikmalaya Health Polytechnic demands absolute network stability. However, the use of star topology often triggers queued connections when overload occurs. This study aims to evaluate the performance of wireless internet networks using Quality of Service (QoS) parameters and provide optimization recommendations. Using the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) method, testing was conducted during peak hours. The test results showed that despite very strong signal strength (-49 dBm), there was a delay spike of up to 235 ms, indicating network congestion. Implementation of bandwidth management using the Peer Connection Queue (PCQ) and Queue Tree methods is recommended to distribute the load fairly and reduce packet queues at the central router.
