The development of instructional video media has become a contextual, innovative, and culturally relevant necessity for learners’ local contexts. Advances in technology and visual media provide opportunities for educators to develop art learning videos that function not only as tools for delivering content but also as media for cultural literacy. In this context, Dayak culture is viewed as a learning resource that possesses significant aesthetic, historical, and educational values to be integrated into school-based art education. The main focus of this study concerns the process of producing art instructional videos based on Dayak culture, the implementation of the media in learning activities, and the validation and feasibility of the resulting products. The research methodology employed is practice-led research, an approach that positions media development practice as the core of the research process. The research stages include needs analysis and learning context analysis, video concept and structure design, instructional media product development, implementation of the media in learning activities, and evaluation and validation of media feasibility. The developed instructional video products contain visual art materials, such as handicrafts, sculpture, traditional architecture, ceramics, and traditional Dayak weapons, which are visualized through images and video recordings. Product trials were conducted with seventh-grade students at SMPN 02 Palangka Raya to examine learner responses, learning achievement, and media usability. The findings indicate that the development of art instructional video media based on Dayak culture effectively functions as a medium for cultural literacy in art education. The implementation of video media provides contextual visual learning experiences and enhances students’ interest and understanding of art and cultural materials. Product validation results show that the instructional videos are categorized as feasible in terms of content relevance, visual clarity, and ease of use. Overall, this study contributes to the development of cultural literacy, the strengthening of art education, and innovation in locally based instructional media relevant to regional educational contexts.
