Volume 20 Number 2 (December 2025) of the Journal of Architectural Perspectives presents a curated collection of scholarly articles derived from architecture students’ final projects as well as academic research by scholars that have been previously disseminated through scientific forums, developed in collaboration with the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) of Central Kalimantan. This issue reflects a continued commitment to advancing architectural discourse that is adaptive, contextual, and responsive to local conditions, while fostering meaningful dialogue between academic inquiry and professional practice.

The articles featured in this volume explore a wide range of architectural and urban issues, including public building design approaches that prioritize community needs, the planning and development of tourism and conservation areas grounded in local potential, and morphological studies of historic urban environments that play a crucial role in preserving city identity amid ongoing development pressures. In addition, several contributions examine the role of local communities in sustaining river ecosystems, highlighting the interconnectedness of spatial planning, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.

Through these diverse yet interconnected perspectives, this issue aims to serve as both an academic reference and a source of design inspiration for students, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in their efforts to create a high-quality, sustainable built environment rooted in local wisdom and cultural values.
