Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of smartphones in the student learning process. The research was conducted from October 20th to October 27th, 2023, involving 38 students from the Economic and Business Education Department at a university. A survey research method with a qualitative approach was used to gather data through an open questionnaire distributed to the participants. The results indicate that many students recognize the significant role smartphones play in enhancing their study process on campus. The majority of students reported that smartphones are essential tools for accessing information, facilitating communication, and enhancing learning efficiency. Smartphones allow students to access educational materials, engage with their peers and instructors, and participate in online learning platforms. This study suggests that smartphones can be integrated into the learning process as a tool for academic success, as they offer a variety of functions that improve students’ engagement and understanding. Furthermore, the findings highlight that when used appropriately, smartphones can be a valuable resource for modern education, helping students to stay connected and organized while supporting their academic goals.
