PLAGIARISM SCREENING
PLAGIARISM SCREENING POLICY
JISPAR is committed to originality and responsible attribution in scholarly publishing. All submitted manuscripts may be screened for text similarity and other indicators of potential plagiarism as part of the editorial assessment.
1. Screening Procedure
The Editorial Office may use plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate methods to identify text overlap between a submitted manuscript and existing publications or online sources.
Similarity reports are evaluated by an editor. A similarity score alone does not establish plagiarism, because legitimate quotations, references, technical terminology, and commonly used phrases may contribute to text overlap.
2. Assessment of Similarity
Editors assess the nature, extent, location, and context of identified similarities. Particular attention is given to unattributed copying, reuse of substantial portions of previously published work, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of the author's own published material.
Authors may be asked to provide explanations or revise the manuscript when concerns can reasonably be addressed before publication.
3. Editorial Action
Where substantial or unexplained overlap raises concerns about originality or research integrity, the manuscript may be returned for clarification, rejected, or referred for further assessment in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
If concerns arise after publication, JISPAR may investigate and publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction when warranted.
4. Authors' Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that ideas, words, data, images, and other materials obtained from external sources are properly attributed and that any required permissions have been obtained.
Authors must not fabricate or manipulate screening results or attempt to conceal plagiarism through superficial changes to copied text.
5. Similarity Threshold
JISPAR evaluates similarity reports in context rather than relying solely on a numerical score.
[EDITORIAL CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: If JISPAR adopts a formal maximum similarity percentage, specify the approved threshold and explain whether exclusions for references, quotations, or other material apply. Do not publish a numerical threshold unless the journal consistently applies it.]
