Penerapan Model Discovery Learning Pada Materi Suhu dan Kalor di Kelas XI Semester II SMA Negeri di Palangka Raya

Abstrak – Model Discovery learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik dan menuntut peserta didik untuk terlibat secara aktif dalam pembelajaran sehingga peserta didik dapat menemukan konsep pelajaran melalui percobaan serta dapat mememukan dan menyelidiki suatu permasalahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mendeskripsikan ketuntasan hasil belajar kognitif, (2) Mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar, (3) Mengetahui respon peserta didik setelah menerapkan model Discovery Learning pada materi suhu dan kalor di kelas XI semester II SMA Negeri di Palangka Raya Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra-eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI semester II salah satu SMA Negeri di Palangka Raya dengan sampel penelitian yang telah ditentukan adalah kelas XI-6 dengan jumlah 38 peserta didik. Instumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar kognitif dan angket respon peserta didik. Soal tes hasil belajar kognitif berbentuk pilihan ganda dengan 5 pilihan jawaban dan angket respon peserta didik berbentuk pertanyaan dengan 3 pilihan jawaban yang disertai alasan. Hasil data penelitian yang diperoleh menyatakan bahwa ketuntasan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik dari 29 peserta didik yang mengikuti tes hasil belajar diperoleh jumlah peserta didik yang tuntas yaitu 23 peserta didik dan jumlah peserta didik yang tidak tuntas sebanyak 6 peserta didik. Ketuntasan secara klasikal diperolah sebanyak 23 peserta didik tuntas (79,32%) hasil ini sudah memenuhi kriteria yang ditetapakan sekolah yaitu ≥75%, yang berarti secara kalsikal pembelajaran dinyatakan tuntas, sementara masih ada 6 peserta didik (20,68%) tidak tuntas secara klasikal. Tujuan pembelajaran khusus yang tuntas diperoleh sebanyak 23 butir soal (76,67%) dan sebanyak 7 butir soal (23,33%) tidak tuntas. Peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik diperoleh N-Gain sebesar 0,68 yang tergolong kategori sedang dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,657. Hasil angket respon peserta didik menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran yang diterapkan menarik minat peserta didik, suasana kelas cukup senang bagi peserta didik, soal-soal evaluasi cukup membantu peserta didik, LKPD cukup memudahkan peserta didik, pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning memudahkan peserta didik menganalisis pembelajaran, guru sangat memotivasi peserta didik, guru sangat membimbing peserta didik, pelaksanaan pembelajaran cukup mudah, pembelajaran berkelompok sangat membantu peserta didik dan tidak ada kendala dalam pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning.
Abstract – Discovery learning model is a learning model that is centered on students and requires students to be actively involved in learning so that students can find lesson concepts through experiments and can find and investigate a problem. The objectives of this study are: (1) Describing the completeness of cognitive learning outcomes, (2) Knowing the increase in learning outcomes, (3) Knowing the response of students after applying the Discovery Learning model to temperature and heat material in class XI semester II of State Senior High School in Palangka Raya Academic Year 2023/2024. This research is a pre-experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was the entire class XI semester II of one of the State High School in Palangka Raya with the research sample that has been determined is class XI-6 with a total of 38 students. The instruments used in this study were cognitive learning outcome tests and student response questionnaires. Cognitive learning outcomes test questions in the form of multiple choice with 5 answer choices and questionnaire responses in the form of questions with 3 answer choices accompanied by reasons. The results of the research data obtained state that the completeness of the cognitive learning outcomes of students from 29 students who took the learning outcomes test obtained the number of students who were complete, namely 23 students and the number of students who were not complete as many as 6 students. Classical completeness is obtained as many as 23 students complete (79.32%) this result has met the criteria set by the school which is ≥75%, which means that the learning is declared complete, while there are still 6 students (20.68%) not classically complete. Specific learning objectives that were completed were obtained as many as 23 items (76.67%) and as many as 7 items (23.33%) were not completed. The increase in student learning outcomes obtained N-Gain of 0.68 which is classified as a moderate category with an average N-Gain of 0.657. The results of the students' response questionnaire stated that the learning applied attracted students' interest, the classroom atmosphere was quite happy for students, the evaluation questions were quite helpful for students, LKPD made it easy for students, learning with the discovery learning model made it easy for students to analyze learning, teachers really motivated students, teachers really guided students, learning implementation was quite easy, group learning really helped students and there were no obstacles in learning with the discovery learning model.
