Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Steam Melalui Project Based Learning Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Anak Usia Dini

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning model through Project Based Learning (PjBL) in enhancing early childhood learning motivation at TK PGRI 29 Tegalsari Semarang. The research employed a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design involving six children aged 5–6 years in the B class group. Data were collected using a learning motivation observation sheet developed based on Sardiman’s motivation theory and adapted to early childhood developmental characteristics. Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample t-Test with SPSS version 26. The results showed an increase in the average motivation score from 2.07 (pretest) to 3.53 (posttest), with a t-value of 9.024 and a significance level of 0.002 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant improvement. The highest increase occurred in the curiosity aspect, followed by independence and perseverance. The STEAM–PjBL approach effectively fostered children’s intrinsic motivation through exploratory, collaborative, and creative learning experiences aligned with the principles of developmentally appropriate practice. These findings suggest that the STEAM–PjBL model is a viable and innovative learning alternative in early childhood education to cultivate enthusiasm, responsibility, and independence in learning from an early age.
