Relevansi Kesehatan Mental dengan Motivasi Belajar Peserta Didik di SMPN 40 Pekanbaru

This study aims to determine the relevance of mental health to student learning motivation at SMPN 40 Pekanbaru. The research approach is quantitative with correlation type. The number of samples is 55 students out of 550 students with random sampling technique (taking 10% of the population). Observation and questionnaires are the data collection techniques in this study. Meanwhile, the product moment correlation test is used as a data analysis technique. The results of this study are that there is a correlation between mental health and student learning motivation at SMPN 40 Pekanbaru, with the calculated r result of 0.652 > 0.266 at the 5% significant level and, 0.652 > 0.345 at the 1% significant level. The contribution of positive mental health in influencing student learning motivation is 42.6%. These results indicate that improving students' mental health can increase their learning motivation. Therefore, it is important for schools to pay more attention to mental health aspects in an effort to improve student motivation and learning achievement.
