PEER REVIEW PROCESS
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Guidance and Counseling (JBKP) undergo a rigorous editorial and peer-review process to ensure academic quality, integrity, and scholarly contribution.
-
Initial Editorial Screening
Submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editor or Section Editor to assess their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with publication ethics, and completeness of basic formatting and submission requirements. -
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s topic. JBKP applies a double-blind review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. -
Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly quality and substance, including:-
Originality and novelty of the study
-
Theoretical and/or practical contribution to guidance and counseling
-
Clarity of objectives and methodological rigor
-
Validity of data, analysis, and interpretation
-
Coherence of arguments and quality of presentation
-
Accuracy, relevance, and currency of citations and references
-
-
Reviewer Recommendations
Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:-
Accept without revision
-
Accept with minor revision
-
Accept with major revision
-
Reject
If a reviewer considers the manuscript outside their area of expertise, they may decline the review and suggest an alternative reviewer with appropriate competence.
-
-
Editorial Decision
The Editor makes the final decision based on reviewers’ comments and recommendations. Authors will be notified of the review outcome through the journal system. -
Review Timeline
The peer-review process at JBKP generally takes 1–3 months from the time the manuscript enters the review stage. In some cases, the review process may take up to three months, depending on manuscript complexity and reviewer availability.
