Retraction Policy

EBONY Journal of English Language Teaching, Linguistics, and Literature is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. An article may be retracted if it is found to contain significant errors, plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other forms of publication misconduct that compromise the reliability or integrity of the published work.

Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on available evidence and, where necessary, consultation with the authors, independent experts, or relevant institutions. Authors will be given an opportunity to respond before a final decision is made, whenever practicable.

When an article is retracted, the journal will publish a clear retraction notice explaining the reasons for the retraction and linking it to the original article. The original article will remain accessible but will be clearly marked as RETRACTED, unless removal is legally required or necessary to address serious privacy or safety concerns.

Minor errors that do not invalidate the main findings may be addressed through a correction rather than retraction. The journal follows the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling retraction cases.
