Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed guidance and counseling services, particularly in the implementation of online group-based psychoeducation. This study aims to analyze the role of counselors in building group dynamics within digital psychoeducation through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Data were obtained from scientific articles indexed in reputable databases, including Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, SAGE Journals, PubMed, Scopus, and ProQuest, published between 2015 and 2025. A total of 12 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns related to counselors’ roles, digital group dynamics, and strategies for managing group interactions. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of group dynamics in digital psychoeducation is influenced by the interrelationship among effective communication, group cohesion, counselor leadership, and digital technology support. Adaptive and participatory communication plays an important role in fostering group cohesion, while counselors’ digital competence is essential for maintaining member engagement and effective group interaction. In addition, the appropriate use of technology has been shown to expand service accessibility while creating more flexible and inclusive group interactions. Therefore, group dynamics in digital psychoeducation are determined not only by the technological media used but also by counselors’ abilities to manage interaction processes, interpersonal relationships, and member engagement in online settings.
