Author Guidelines

General Policy Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished manuscripts that have not been submitted elsewhere. Manuscripts should reflect scholarly research, conceptual frameworks, or empirical studies relevant to Islamic education, intellectual discourse, and Islamic thought.
General Format Template 1) Manuscript length: 5,000–8,000 words (excluding references); maximum 15 pages in MS Word.
2) Written in English (Preferred) or Bahasa Indonesia with proper academic style.
3) Typed in Palatino Linotype 11 pt, 1.15 spacing, A4 size.
4) References follow APA 7th Edition using Mendeley.
5) Each article must include: title (max 14 words), author(s), affiliation, corresponding email, abstract (200–250 words), 3–5 keywords, and sections: Introduction, Method, Results & Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
Scope of Article Submitted articles should be the result of field research or literature studies in the fields of Islamic Education, Islamic Thought, Philosophy of Islamic Studies, Islamic Intellectual Tradition, and Contemporary Thought.
Manuscript Structure 1) Title: Concise, clear, max. 14 words, written in English and bold. Arabic articles must include Latin transliteration.
2) Abstract: Written in English and Indonesian (Arabic articles: Arabic + English). Max. 250 words, one paragraph, containing: background & purpose, methods, findings, implications. No citations/abbreviations.
3) Keywords: 3–5 keywords, alphabetical order, comma-separated.
4) Introduction: Background, literature review, originality, objectives, and Novelty (±20% of manuscript).
5) Theoretical Framework: Theoretical foundation (±15%).
6) Findings & Discussion: Results, critical analysis, comparison with literature, strengths, limitations, implications (±60%).
7) Conclusion: Paragraph form summarizing findings, synthesis, and contributions (±5%).
8) Acknowledgment: Optional appreciation to contributors.
9) Bibliography: Last 10 years preferred; APA 7th Edition; all cited sources must appear; include DOI; use Mendeley.
10) Tables and Figures: Must be clear, centered, editable text, follow APA 7th guidelines; examples available in JIED Template.
Submission Steps 1) Register and check the “author” column.
2) Click New Submission after login.
3) Start: Complete checklists → Save & Continue.
4) Upload Submission: Upload manuscript (MS Word) → Save & Continue.
5) Enter Metadata: Enter all authors' data. For multiple authors, click “add author”. Fill in title, abstract, keywords, methods, bibliography.
6) Upload Supplementary Files: Optional uploads: cover letter, author contribution statement, supporting documents.
7) Confirmation: Click Finish Submission when all data are correct.
