Retraction and Correction

Retraction and Correction Policy

General Statement The Journal Of Islamic Education And Intellectual Discourse (JIED) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, accuracy, and transparency in all published content. Corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies will be carried out with strict standards to maintain confidence in the authority of electronic archives and ensure the integrity of scientific records.
Article Corrections 1) Authors must promptly notify the editorial office of any significant errors or inaccuracies that may affect interpretation or reliability.
2) Corrections are published as Errata (publisher errors) or Corrigenda (author errors) in subsequent issues and linked to the original article.
3) Minor errors that do not affect main conclusions or scientific validity may be corrected without a formal notice.
4) All correction notices will describe the changes and include the publication date of the correction.
Article Retractions 1) Potential retractions are reported to the journal editor.
2) The editor follows COPE flowcharts, including evaluating the author's response.
3) Findings are sent to the Ethics Advisory Board before any action to ensure best practices.
4) The final retraction decision is communicated to the author and, if necessary, the author’s institution.
5) The retraction statement is published online and in the next available issue.

Note: Retaining copyright does not grant authors the right to retract after publication; COPE guidelines still apply.
Article Removal In exceptional cases, articles may be removed if clearly defamatory, infringing legal rights, subject to a court order, or posing a serious health risk. The metadata (title and authors) will remain, while the text is replaced with a notice stating the article has been removed for legal reasons.
Article Replacement If an article poses a serious health risk, authors may retract and replace the flawed original with a corrected version. Retraction procedures are followed, with the retraction notice linking to the corrected article and including a document history.
