Ijtihad in Bridging Revelation and Modern Life Realities and Its Implementation in Islamic Education

This study examines the role of ijtihad in bridging revelation and the realities of modern life, particularly in the context of Islamic education. The study focuses on the relationship between revelation and modernity, the most relevant types of ijtihad, and models of ijtihad implementation in education. The research method uses a qualitative literature review with a conceptual analysis approach to understand the dynamics and challenges of contemporary ijtihad. The results emphasize the importance of a contextual ijtihad approach and an adaptive ijtihad reconstruction model as instruments for reforming Islamic education that are responsive to developments in science, technology, and socio-cultural change. This study also identifies various challenges, such as the limited capacity of modern mujtahids and the politicization of fatwas, which demand a multidisciplinary reform of ijtihad methodology. These findings provide a basis for inclusive and progressive Islamic education policies and open up further research directions for empirical evaluation of the implementation of adaptive ijtihad models in various Islamic educational contexts.
Penelitian ini mengkaji peran ijtihad dalam menjembatani wahyu dan realitas kehidupan modern, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan Islam. Kajian ini berfokus pada hubungan antara wahyu dan modernitas, jenis-jenis ijtihad yang paling relevan, dan model-model implementasi ijtihad dalam pendidikan. Metode penelitian menggunakan tinjauan pustaka kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis konseptual untuk memahami dinamika dan tantangan ijtihad kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menekankan pentingnya pendekatan ijtihad kontekstual dan model rekonstruksi ijtihad adaptif sebagai instrumen reformasi pendidikan Islam yang responsif terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan perubahan sosial budaya. Kajian ini juga mengidentifikasi berbagai tantangan, seperti keterbatasan kapasitas mujtahid modern dan politisasi fatwa, yang menuntut reformasi metodologi ijtihad yang multidisiplin. Temuan-temuan ini memberikan dasar bagi kebijakan pendidikan Islam yang inklusif dan progresif serta membuka arah penelitian lebih lanjut untuk evaluasi empiris implementasi model-model ijtihad adaptif dalam berbagai konteks pendidikan Islam.
